These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Loreium — the website at loreium.app, the web app at play.loreium.app, and any Loreium mobile or desktop applications we may release (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Loreium is currently in an early-access phase. These Terms are deliberately restrictive while the Service matures; we expect to relax some restrictions over time, and any future version of these Terms will say so clearly.
The Service is operated by:
Loreium UG (haftungsbeschränkt) Lindenstr. 16, 83607 Holzkirchen, Germany Registered at Amtsgericht München, HRB 311950 Managing director: Felix Horvat Contact: [email protected]
Full company details are available in our imprint. How we handle personal data is described in our website privacy policy and app privacy policy.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account and use the Service. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
You agree to provide accurate registration information, to keep your login credentials secure, and not to share your account with others. You may register only one account per person. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us at [email protected].
Loreium is an AI-driven interactive fiction service. You play Sessions based on a Template: on each Turn you choose an Option Card or write a free-text action, and the Service generates the next part of the story. You can create your own Custom Worlds with the World Builder.
The Service is in early access and is provided "as available". Features may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued, and generated content, Sessions, or Templates may be modified or migrated as the Service evolves. We will handle your data in line with our privacy policies, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or the permanent retention of any particular Session or Template during early access.
Playing Turns and certain other features consume Credits. Credits are sold in packs, in euros, with payment processed by Stripe. Pricing is shown at the time of purchase. We do not currently offer subscriptions.
Credits:
Right of withdrawal (EU consumers). When you buy Credits, you receive digital content that is delivered immediately. During checkout you expressly consent to immediate delivery and acknowledge that you thereby lose your statutory right of withdrawal once delivery has begun (§ 356(5) BGB). Your statutory warranty rights for digital content remain unaffected.
If your account is terminated for a material breach of these Terms, any remaining Credits are forfeited. If you delete your account voluntarily, remaining Credits lapse; your statutory rights remain unaffected. If we discontinue the Service or terminate your account without cause, we will refund the value of your unused Credits.
All Story Content is owned by Loreium. All rights, title, and interest in Story Content — including narratives, recaps, scene artwork, and character portraits generated in your Sessions — belong to Loreium UG (haftungsbeschränkt) to the fullest extent permitted by law, regardless of whether the Session is based on an Official Template or a Custom World. All rights reserved.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access and consume the Story Content of your own Sessions for your private, personal enjoyment only. Story Content is for player consumption. No other rights are granted, whether by implication or otherwise.
Except as expressly allowed in Section 7, you may not Publish, reproduce, adapt, translate, sell, license, or otherwise exploit Story Content, in whole or in part, in any medium. Mandatory statutory rights — such as quotation or private-copying rights under applicable copyright law — remain unaffected.
Your own creative input remains yours to the extent it is protectable: you keep whatever rights you hold in the free-text actions you write and in the original material you contribute to a Custom World (see Section 8). This does not give you any rights in the Story Content generated from that input. You may use your own inputs outside the Service only separately from, and without reproducing, the Story Content generated in response — and, for Sessions based on Official Templates, subject to Section 7.4.
Story Content from Sessions based on Official Templates may not be Published, except as set out in Section 7.3. This prohibition applies to complete stories, chapters, transcripts, substantial excerpts, adaptations, translations, and derivative works, in any form or medium, commercial or not. There is no approval process for Publishing stories based on Official Templates; requests will not be granted.
Story Content from Sessions based on a Custom World — including World Builder output for that Custom World — may be Published only if both of the following conditions are met:
Neither condition substitutes for the other. Without both, Publishing Story Content from a Custom World is prohibited. These conditions apply equally to excerpts, adaptations, translations, and derivative works of such Story Content. A Template that reproduces or is substantially derived from an Official Template is treated as an Official Template for the purposes of this Section 7. To request approval, contact [email protected].
As a courtesy — not a right — you may share brief excerpts or screenshots of your own Sessions (no more than a few paragraphs or a small number of screenshots per story) on your personal, non-commercial social media accounts, provided you include the attribution "Created with Loreium". This exception applies notwithstanding Sections 7.1 and 7.2. It does not permit serialized posting of a story, streaming or video content, monetized content of any kind, or anything that amounts to making a story available in substance. We may narrow or revoke this exception at any time, and we may require removal of any shared material at our discretion.
Official Templates and their elements (settings, characters, lore, rules, artwork) are the property of Loreium and may not be reproduced, Published, or reused outside the Service. You may not recreate or export an Official Template, in whole or in substantial part, whether inside or outside the Service — including by rebuilding it as a Custom World.
You retain ownership of the original creative material you yourself contribute to a Custom World — your own ideas, descriptions, names, and text you write. AI-generated elaborations of that material produced by the World Builder are Story Content owned by Loreium; they remain usable by you within the Service as part of your Custom World, and Sections 6 and 7.2 apply to them.
By creating a Custom World, you grant Loreium a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt, and display your contributed material as needed to operate, maintain, and improve the Service, including generating Story Content from it in your Sessions.
You warrant that your contributions to Custom Worlds do not infringe third-party rights — including copyright, trademarks, and personality rights — and do not violate Section 9. You are responsible for the material you contribute. Custom Worlds are private by default; if sharing features are introduced, additional terms may apply to shared Templates.
When using the Service, you must not:
We may remove content, suspend features, or restrict accounts to enforce this section.
Story Content is generated by artificial intelligence. It is fiction: it may be inaccurate, inconsistent, or — depending on the world and your choices — dark or unsettling. It does not represent the views of Loreium and must not be relied on as factual information or as advice of any kind. Generated content may occasionally resemble other works; resemblance to real persons or events is unintended.
You may stop using the Service at any time and request deletion of your account by contacting us at [email protected]. We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms — in particular Sections 6, 7, and 9 — or where we are required to by law. Where reasonable, we will warn you before terminating.
Upon termination, your license to Story Content under Section 6 ends, and any Publishing approval granted under Section 7.2 lapses unless the relevant agreement states otherwise. Sections 6, 7, 8, 12, and 14 survive termination; the license you grant in Section 8 survives only for as long as your Custom Worlds, or content derived from them, remain on the Service. Credits are handled as described in Section 5.
We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for injury to life, body, or health, and under mandatory statutory liability rules (including the German Product Liability Act).
For slight negligence, we are liable only for breach of essential contractual obligations (obligations whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose fulfilment you may regularly rely), and in that case our liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract. Otherwise, our liability for slight negligence is excluded.
The Service is provided as an early-access product. To the extent permitted by law, we do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular content will remain available.
We may amend these Terms — for example, to reflect new features, legal requirements, or a relaxation of the restrictions above. For material changes, we will notify you in advance (for example, by email or in-app notice) and give you the opportunity to object; if you object, you may delete your account, and where the change is not acceptable to you and the law so provides, you may terminate your contract with us. Continued use of the Service after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms. The "Last updated" date shown on this page reflects the current version.
These Terms are governed by the law of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer residing in the EU, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence.
If you are a merchant, a legal entity under public law, or a special fund under public law, the exclusive place of jurisdiction is Munich, Germany.
We are neither obliged nor willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
Questions about these Terms, and requests for publishing approval under Section 7.2, can be sent to [email protected].
